Available Courses offered from Team WDO:

1.) Intro to Rock: This course is designed for those interested in climbing but don’t have any-or very limited experience. You’ll learn fundamental skills-proper wear of safety equipment, belaying, and climbing 5.5-5.7 routes on top-rope. Top-rope is a system intended to provide the exhilarating climbing experience while providing the safest environment possible. Great for beginners! We can provide this for up to six people, and usually consists of a half day or full day, depending on what the client wants to accomplish.

2.) Intro to Anchors: This course’s focus is primarily building sport or trad anchors utilizing industry-accepted standards for rock routes. This will be primarily ground-based, but we also climb various routes to build understanding of fundamentals in variable terrain and belay stances. We prefer three or less clients for this course, but may provide for up to six people if necessary. Classes can be either a half day or full day.

3.) Intro to Leading: This full-day course is progressive and is intended for climbers with knowledge of fundamentals and want to begin leading on rock routes in the 5.5-5.7 range. We start with ‘mock leads’ on top rope, where the student is placing protection and preparing and anchor, while secured. The instructor will then follow the route while protected, and assess placements. Normally, first leads are conducted on a sport route, and progress to trad routes. We also discuss when to extend draws and belaying from above. As with Intro to Anchors, we prefer three or less students for this class but can accommodate up to six.

4.) Guided routes: These trips are focused on the individual client and their goals for the adventure! We collaborate with the client to develop a suitable objective (route) and prepare the client for any specific needs prior to the actual climb. Depending on the objective and client experience, we may provide additional instruction to ensure a safe and enjoyable day! In addition, will provide packing lists and equipment needs specific to the objective, and WDO can provide the client with some additional equipment if needed.
